Over the past two years, BioTechnologia: Journal of Biotechnology, Computational Biology and Bionanotechnology 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 in the field of biotechnology and related life sciences.
Published by the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (Instytut Chemii Bioorganicznej PAN) and the Committee of Biotechnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Polska Akademia Nauk), BioTechnologia is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research and review articles.
In July 2024, a 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 took responsibility for the journal, with Edyta Kościańska, PhD, DSc, appointed as Editor-in-Chief, and Agata Świątkowska, PhD, DSc, appointed as Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Since then, the journal has introduced a number of important improvements, including the implementation of a new journal management system and website, closer cooperation with its publisher, Termedia, changes to the Editorial Board and Section Editors, strengthening the editorial support team, and enhancing collaboration with professional language editors at Translmed Publishing Group.
These efforts have been accompanied by remarkable growth in the journal’s visibility and impact. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏.𝟔 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐭𝐨 𝟑.𝟑 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟓.𝟎 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. As a result, 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐐𝟐 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐐𝟐 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟕𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. Other Scopus-based metrics have also improved, further confirming the journal’s increasing recognition.
The journal is indexed in 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐬, 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐌𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐌𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 and included in other recognized indexing services. BioTechnologia is also listed in the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education scientific journal catalogue with a score of 𝟕𝟎 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 and is currently undergoing 𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐛 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
